The ASICS Matflex 5 is the perfect all-around shoe for all levels of wrestlers, offered at an entry-level price. This is the latest update to the long trusted Matflex line, and it’s only gotten better! The full length gum rubber sole provides excellent grip in all directions, featuring wrestling-specific traction areas. The upper provides the superior comfort, support, and breathability that the Matflex shoe has become known for (and then some). From beginner to elite, the Matflex5 will ensure the excellent performance for any serious competitor.
Great shoe for beginners. Has great traction and flexibility as well as pivot points.
Great shoes for beginners. Fantastic grip, inexpensive, super flexible and light. Good first shoe. I may just have big feet (I do), but they seem to me to run a little small. If you want a snug fit, get your usual size. If you don't want cramps and ingrown toenails, get a half size up.
Best product for starters and intermediate. Easy to get used to and I recommend for all my new wrestlers. I've gone through two pairs in the last three years.
I like these shoes because they are super comfortable. They are really good starter shoes at a very affordable price. The design is very simple and they go well with anything. The grip is very good as well!
They have great grip. Fits nicely to the feet. The glue on the shoe comes off a little.
I really like that they are for wide feet and narrow feet. The grip is amazing. I suggest more colors on the shoes, and if you do that, you will get way more customers for the Matflex.
They have great grip, but the material and glue started stretching and undoing a bit. Would recommend as a starter shoe.
I got my brother a pair of the ASICS shoes. He said that the shoes helped him with his flat feet. He also said that it helped with grip and he is going to get another pair for his spring camp.
The shoes are very comfortable and have been worn for 2+ years. Extremely light weight and have a lot of grip.
The shoes were wide so they're good for people with wide and flat feet. The soles also are super grippy so you'll never slip. My pair lasted me about 2 years and I'm still using them today.
The shoes are very flexible and have great grip, They're durable, comfortable and easy to put on. They were a good value.
Great shoes for a freshman just starting wrestling. Shoes are comfortable on the foot and a good price. However, a little bit cheap. I got a hole in the toe a year after I got them.
ASICS Matflex shoes are great. They have great comfort, flexibility, and traction, and yet they are not expensive. So for, my pair has held up very well even after much use. All in all, they are a great value.
The shoes are light weight and very comfortable. Provides good foot support. The price is awesome!
The Matflex are a reliable pair of wrestling shoes. They are lightweight, have lots of give, and have lasted me for many seasons. Wish they came in other colors.
These shoes were my first pair of wrestling shoes. They were excellent at the price point. Although the price was good, the shoes weren't very comfortable. They still did their job and were a good beginner shoe.
They are super comfortable and fit perfect. Did not damage.
These shoes are great! Super lightweight, flexible and easy to get on and off. The best part is that they perform well on the mat.
Shoes had a good grip for whole season. Never tore and a great beginner shoe. Great color. Would buy again for second year of wrestling. They are very light and the grip never wore off.
Shoes last a good while. Great feeling when tight and grips the mat well when in use.
The product has a good amount of grip to keep you moving around on the mat. It is comfortable and durable. The design on the shoes gives off a vibrant texture.
I am a beginner in wrestling and my shoes are amazing! They are comfortable, sturdy, strong, light and even fast. I love the colors and am happy I finally have shoes so that my toes don't get stepped on, and I can excel in what I love: Wrestling.

do you have these in 2E wide i need a wide wrestling shoe
All shoes on the website come in standard sizing. The Matflex 5 only comes in a standard width. If you are looking for shoes that are a bit wider I would recommend the Nike Inflict 3 and Nike Freek.

I am a women's size 7.5. What size would you recommend for the matflex?
It would be good to go down to a 6.5. The shoes are in males sizes so the equivalent to a womens 7.5 is a mens 6.5.

If i am a size 11 should i get a size 11.5 or size 12.
I would say to go with the size 12. You may grow out of the 11.5 too fast.

How are these compared to adidas street shoe? I wear a men's 10.5, what size would I need in asics?
Are the tiger stripes on these shoes white or silver?
Hello, I want to buy a women's wrestling shoes. Is the Asics Matflex 5 also made in women's sizes? Thank you.
Currently, all wrestling shoes are represented in their Unisex (Men's) size. I'd suggest going 1.5 sizes down to adjust to women's sizes for the Matflex 5. I understand it is kind of confusing ordering women's wrestling shoes. It is an issue we are working on fixing, and we'll have easy to use size conversion charts live on the website before this upcoming wrestling season : )
