The Nike Takedown 4 is all about simplicity, reliability, and effectiveness. Everything on these shoes is essential and functional, but there are no extras to muddy up a perfectly amazing shoe. Using the same unique split outsole as the famed Nike Inflict, the Takedown will provide adequate traction, while allowing for great mobility and flexibility. The mesh areas in the upper offer a comfortable fit and a more breathable place for your foot. The lace strap at the top is wide and sturdy, keeping your laces secure the entire match. Perhaps the best feature of this shoe is the spacious toe box. Although Nike does not explicitly identify this as a “wide” shoe (hardly any wrestling shoes are), we know from experience and feedback that this is one of the best wrestling shoes for people with wide feet. That said, wrestling shoes are inherently versatile; these will also work perfectly well for wrestlers with normal-width feet. Either way, the Nike Takedown is truly a high quality shoe that is built for durability and getting the job done in style.
These wrestling shoes are amazing, they have amazing grip on the mat, they are lightweight, and even comfortable. they are also extremely durable. definitely one of the best pairs of wrestling shoes I have ever had.
Will these come again in stock?
They are great shoes. The grip on them is great and the flexibility in the sides is great. You don't feel constricted and the movability is better than any other, in my opinion.
Shoes look great and feel great on. Very comfortable and good grip. Nike wrestling shoes are long-lasting. After years of training, soles are in good shape and stitching is intact.
Let me preface this by saying, I know nothing about wrestling shoes. Needed some for training. I tried a couple pairs on at a local store and they were all super narrow (for me). I came online, stumbled upon WrestlingMart.com, read the customer service Q&As and was able to make a decision on these Nike Takedown shoes. I'm typically a 6.5Y/Men's size shoe. I bought the size 7 and they fit absolutely perfectly. And they are comfortable. In terms of what I'm guessing is normal fit for wrestling shoes, these shoes run "wide".
The Nike Brand came through with the performance for the time, but the tongue had issues staying in place. It could have just been a wrong fit or a faulty one, but it still got annoying.
Overall, the shoes are really comfortable and I have really wide feet, the material is good, and the shoes do look great. Almost like a retro basketball wrestling shoe. My only criticism is that when the laces meet the strap, the tongue of the shoe should be a little wider
are you guys gonna get anymore nike takedown 4? the white shoe with the black bottoms
Nike has discontinued The Takdown 4 wrestling shoes, so we will no longer be getting anymore in stock.

Does this shoe come in 4e width?
The shoes only come in standard sizing, but are a bit wider than the other shoes out there. If you are looking for wide shoes the Nike Inflict 3 and Nike Freek will also be a good option.
The Inflict 3 tends to stretch out a bit more due to the mesh material that the shoe is made out of.

Do these come in wide width?
These shoes do not come in a wider version. The Takedown's do run a bit wider than most shoes out there. If you are looking for wide shoes the Nike Inflict and Nike Freek would be a good choice.

How wide is your widest wrestling shoe? I wear a 9 4E
All shoes on the website come in standard sizing. There a few that run a bit wider than others. If you are looking for a wider shoe, the Nike Inflict Nike Freek are also a good shoe to look into. The Freek will be the widest out of the Nike shoes.

The Nike Takedown is a good shoe for wrestlers with wider feet. If you are interested in another wide shoe the Nike Inflict 3 is upgraded version of the Takedown.

I wear a 10.5 wide EEE to 4E depending on the brand of shoe. Do you think these will be wide enough
Unfortunately, there are no wide shoes on the market at the moment. However, the Nike Takedown 4 does have a wide toe box. You may want to try them, but i would recommend going up half a size. Also, you may want to consider the ASICS JB Elite 3 which has a wider toe box as well, but you may want to go up half a size as well.

Is this a wide width shoe? I'd like to buy a 12 wide (2 - 4 E).
These shoes are wider than a majority of the other shoes out there. The Nike Freek, Nike Inflict, Adidas Mat Wizard and Adidas Impact are wider shoes. The shoe is not labeled as "wide" but working from customers we have come to find the shoes listed above are wider.

The only color we brought back in for the Takedowns are the white/black and the all black. If the size you are interested is greyed out then the shoe size is out of stock.

Are any of these wide?
The Takedowns are a wider shoe compared to other shoes on the market. The Nike Freek, Nike Inflict 3, Adidas Mat Wizard and Adidas Impact are shoes that have a wider toe box and would have more room for your wrestler.

Do you have 2E width options? I have a heavy weight new to wrestling.
If you are looking for wide shoes here a few options for you. Since none of the shoes are actaully marked as "wide' from working with customer we have come to find that these are wider than the normal wrestling shoes. The Nike Freek, Nike Inflict, Adidas Mat Wizard and Adidas Impact are shoes that are a bit wider.

What's the difference between these and inflicts?
Both of the shoes have the same exact bottom and are split soles. The only difference between the two is the upper style of the shoe, and there is more colorways for the Inflict.

The shoes I wear currently/casually are a size 14. I have very wide feet and am wondering if I should just look for others?
The Nike Takdowns are great shoes for people with wide feet. Another great choice would be the Nike Freeks or the Adidas Mat Wizards.

Wrestling shoe sizing can be very tricky... especially in Nike shoes. What shoe are you a size 8.5 in?

This shoe would be a good shoe for your son to fit into. The shoe is not titled "wide" but from working in store with kids, this is a good shoe for wide feet. Another good suggestion for wide shoes would be the Adidas Mat Wizard. Wish him the best of luck on his wrestling career.

My son is in need of shoes, his current pair are the Nike Inflicts and he is happy with them but it is time for a new pair. I read that the Nike Takedown's are wide, I wouldn't describe his feet as "wide". Are the Takedowns a good upgrade from the Inflicts? or suitable for normal width feet? He is a seasoned wrestler & is in need of great pair of shoes, any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
The Nike Takedowns are a downgrade from the Inflicts. The Inflicts are a higher end shoe. They are both great shoes, but the Inflict is a better shoe than the Takedown. An upgraded shoe from the Inflict will be a Nike Freek. Seasoned wrestlers tend to go with Inflicts or Freeks.

Hey I have a pair of cael v6's that are 10.5's and I was wondering what size i should get in these shoes
I would stick with a 10.5 for the Takedowns. Nike and ASICS run similar in sizing.

We just bought Asics Men's Wide Snapdown 12.5 for my son who starts wrestling as a freshman this week. They weren't wide enough - do you think the 12.5 here is wider than the Asics? I see suggestions to go up a size - but you don't seem to carry size 13...
We have had a lot of customers come in store looking for wide shoes and walk out with a Nike Takedown saying it is the widest we carry. Nike shoes run very small (even for wrestling shoes.) I suggest sizing up a little bit : ) I know it can be a challenge finding wide wrestling shoes. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly at 888-887-8893 and I would be happy to walk you through your options.

I was a size 11 for the asics matflex 5's. Should I also get size 11 for these too? Also my Matflex's ripped after only half a season, will these last a decent amount of time?
If you were wearing a size 11 in a Matflex, I'd suggest sizing up to a 11.5 in a Nike Takedown. Nike shoes run very small.
Answered by Dave Applegate on 01 Nov, 2016
Wow. Really like these. I am a 12 wide, should i go up to the 12.5?? Thanks
Yes. I would size up to a 12.5. The Nike Takedowns can tend to run a little small to begin with : )

I purchased these shoes today for my son. The young man that helped said the shoe came with extra laces but I saw none when I got home. Was I misinformed?
Hi Alma, The Nike Takedown 4 only comes with extra laces in the white colorway. Nike does not include them in the black or orange colors. If you ordered white ones and still didn't get extra laces, please give us a call. Sorry for any miscommunication about that on our end.

I bought the asics aggressors in a full size bigger than my normal shoe size. My normal shoe size is a 5.5 but bought the asics in 6.5, however they barely fit. When I had socks on they wouldn't go in my foot at all but when I put them in barefooted, they were tight everywhere but lose on the toe. What I'm trying to say is what size should I get in the Nike takedowns?
Tony - The Nike Takedown 4 is definitely one of our widest shoes, and is going to be much more flexible than the Aggressor. I would absolutely recommend trying out the Takedown if you have wide feet.

If it doesn't fit can you return them?
Yes. At WrestlingMart, we try to build our brand one customer at a time, making sure every customer falls in love with us. We understand that wrestling shoe sizing is extremely tricky to predict. If your wrestling shoe doesn't fit right, just send it back to us and we will send you a new one or refund your money! : ) If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us at 888-887-8893 to speak with a wrestler.

Unfortunately, we do not have the capability to ship wrestling shoes internationally on our website. We are working to fix this issue and have a temporary work around. If you want to visit our eBay page, you will see we can ship the Nike Takedown 4s through eBay's global shipping program : )

How do the soles measure on these shoes? They use the same sole as the inflict 3s, so I was wondering if they fit the same. My other question was, do they fit more similar to the new inflict 3 models, which run true-half size big, or the old inflict 3 model, which runs true-half size small. Any insight would be much appreciated.
Very good question : ) I can tell you've been doing your research. The Nike Takedown 4 and Nike Inflict 3 (newer models) have an almost identical fit. The biggest difference is the toe in the Nike Takedown 4 is slightly wider than in the Inflict 3. This leads some customers who have more narrow feet to end up sizing down a bit. Please let me know if you have any other questions! : )

Nike Takedown 4 - If I wear a size 12 in a standard dress shoe, what size should I purchase for these? Would I size up a half/full size for all wrestling shoes?
The Nike Takedowns tend to run roughly true to size and are the widest shoe on the current Nike line. I would suggest keeping with the size 12. If you are have any sizing issues, we would be happy to exchange the shoe for a different size! : )
Answered by Dave Applegate on 23 May, 2016
Are the takedown 4's good with ankle support?
Very good question : ) The high support of a shoe like the Nike Freek comes at the cost of decreased flexibility. The Nike Takedown is one of the most flexible shoes in the Nike line. If you're thinking of choosing a Nike Takedown as your next shoe, we have had nothing but good experiences with the shoe and it is one of the staff favorites.
Answered by Dave Applegate on 08 Apr, 2016
Are the takedown 4's the same fit as inflict 3's?
I would suggest going half a size up for the Nike Inflicts if you are comparing them to the Nike Takedowns. Our in-store customers have found that tends to fit a little better : )
Answered by Dave Applegate on 07 Apr, 2016
Does the Nike Takedown 4 have a wider foot than ASICS Matflex 4?
The only truly "wide" wrestling shoe sold today is the ASICS Snapdown Wide. When comparing the Nike Takedown and the ASICS Matflex, the Matflex is a wider shoe according to our team of wrestlers and customers walking into our store.
