Omniflex Attack V2.0: reinventing the definition of elite wrestling shoes

The ASICS Omniflex Attack 2 just dismantled everything the world thought it knew about elite wrestling shoes. Once again, they’ve taken a huge step with technology and innovation. Most notably, they created a never-before-seen “octopod” outsole, featuring wrestling-specific traction zones for optimal grip and world class performance on any mat and from every angle. It is so flexible and lightweight; you can roll the entire shoe up into a little ball. The lace-less upper uses a unique adjustable X-Strap configuration to secure the mid-foot and lock your foot in place. The stretchable upper materials will allow the Attack 2 to mold perfectly to your foot like a sock. The zipper and adjustable ankle closure system put the finishing touches on the beauty, keeping everything nearly seamless and secured. The updates that have been made from the previous model are impressive to say the least. ASICS has made the Omniflex Attack 2 more durable, more stylish, and more comfortable.

I love these shoes. I’ve been wrestling in them all season and they’re starting to show a little bit of wear but still my favorite shoes. I do have to re Velcro them before every match but it’s quick and easy.

My Omniflex's were the first shoe I decided to buy when I really got into wrestling, and it was a great decision. They have a very snug comfortable fit that is also very, very light with great, great grip. I was prompted to get these shoes because I had got the previous version the prior year and loved them. These shoes lived up to the expectation see by the 1's. Tight fit, very light, great grip. These shoes are great.

The black and yellow coloring adds a good look to the product. It is flexible and durable. They are easy to fix the laces and easier to put on. The bottom has different pattern to increase the grip of the shoes.

The red and blue one has very good grip and is comfortable. The shoe is not as breathable as most other shoes, but it was more breathable than it looked. Also, because of its flexibility and light weight, it can feel like it's not there.

My aggressors that I have are size 7.5 but my feet are growing out I don't know what size Omniflex to get

    Joey P.'s picture

If you are growing out of the Aggressors you have now, it'll be best to go with an 8.5 for the Omniflex.

    When do these come out?

    Dave Applegate's picture

We are expecting the ASICS Omniflex 2s to come out towards the end of July : ) ASICS is one of our favorite wrestling shoe brands but they struggle (along with Adidas and Nike as well) to release the shoes to manufacturers on a specific date because of delays in overseas shipping.

Earlier I said there are two photos of the heel for the silver and gold shoes. I was mistaking the photo of the front for an additional photo of the heel. The red/ blue shoes, however, are missing the photo of the front view.

    Dave Applegate's picture

Correct. I apologize for the inconvenience. We are missing an angle for the ASICS Omniflex Attack 2. Hopefully, we will be releasing a video for this wrestling shoe soon, to highlight the shoe in person!

For the silver and gold shoes there are two different pictures of the heel, why is that?

    Dave Applegate's picture

I appreciate you pointing this out! Our photo team is looking into why there is no heel picture of the Red & Blue Omniflex Attack 2.0. As for the shoes, all three have the same heel construction.
